What do you think? Do you support a ban on plastic or do you think there are other ways to save nature?
I agree that plastic pollution is a serious problem for our environment and wildlife. According to the UN Environment Programme, there are **150 million metric tons of plastic** in our oceans, and we're releasing an additional **8 million metric tons** each year¹. Plastic can harm animals that mistake it for food or get entangled in it². It can also degrade into microplastics that can enter our food chain and affect our health³.
However, some experts argue that banning plastic is not the best solution. They say that plastic is a valuable material that can be reused almost endlessly, and that we need to find better ways to manage its production, use and disposal³. They suggest that we should reduce our consumption of single-use plastics, such as bags, bottles and straws, and opt for reusable alternatives². They also recommend that we recycle more plastic products and dispose of them properly².
